RELUXA is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Individual experience varies.

6.1 Why this document exists

This is the most important document on our website, and it is the one we would most like you to actually read.

RELUXA sells a medical device to people who are often in pain and have often been disappointed before. That combination attracts a lot of overpromising in this industry. We are not going to do that. This document sets out exactly what the RELUXA Recovery Wrap is, what it is for, who should be careful with it, and what we can and cannot tell you.

This document prevails over anything inconsistent said anywhere else — on our website, in an advertisement, in an email, on social media, or by us in conversation.

6.2 What the device is, and its regulatory status

The RELUXA Recovery Wrap is a wearable, cordless light-emitting device that delivers 660nm red light and 850nm near-infrared light simultaneously across 315 dual-chip LEDs, in 20-minute sessions with automatic shut-off.

Regulatory status:

  • It is a Class IIa medical device included in the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG), ARTG number 452667.

  • Its intended purpose, as recorded in the ARTG, is to relieve pain through red light (660nm) and infrared (850nm).

  • It is CE certified.

What ARTG listing means — and what it does not.

Inclusion in the ARTG is a regulatory listing. It is not:

  • an endorsement of the device by the Therapeutic Goods Administration or the Australian Government;

  • a statement by any government body that the device will work for you;

  • a guarantee of any particular result; or

  • approval in any country other than Australia.

You can search the ARTG yourself at tga.gov.au and confirm the listing in about a minute. We would encourage you to.

We make no claim of United States Food and Drug Administration clearance, approval or registration. RELUXA has no FDA clearance and we do not represent otherwise anywhere.

6.3 What we can and cannot say about it

What we can say: the device is intended to relieve pain through the delivery of 660nm red and 850nm near-infrared light. That is the intended purpose recorded on the ARTG, and it is the only therapeutic claim we make.

What we describe as mechanism, not outcome: red and near-infrared light are used to support circulation and the body’s natural recovery processes. That is a general description of how the technology works. It is not a claim about what will happen to your body.

What we will never say:

  • that the device cures, treats or prevents any disease or medical condition;

  • that it is a substitute for medical treatment, physiotherapy, medication or surgery;

  • that you should stop or change any treatment because of it;

  • that it will work for you, or that it will work by any particular day;

  • that any specific number of people have had any specific result;

  • that any research proves it will do something for your condition; or

  • anything expressed as a certainty about an individual outcome.

On results: we do not know how you will respond, and neither does anybody else. Bodies differ. Conditions differ. Anyone who names you a date or a percentage is guessing with your money. That uncertainty is precisely why we offer a 90-Day Guarantee instead of a promise.

6.4 This is not medical advice

Nothing on our website, in our emails, in our advertising, in our packaging inserts, or in any communication from RELUXA is medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.

We are not doctors, physiotherapists, or healthcare practitioners, and we will not pretend to be. If you email us a clinical question — whether the device will help your specific condition, whether it interacts with your medication, whether you should use it given your diagnosis — we will tell you honestly that we cannot answer it, and we will suggest you ask someone qualified. That is not us being unhelpful. It is us not being reckless with your health.

Always seek the advice of a qualified healthcare professional with any question you have about a medical condition, a symptom, or a treatment. Never disregard professional medical advice, or delay seeking it, because of something you read on our website.

Do not stop, reduce or change any prescribed medication or treatment because you have started using RELUXA. Speak to your prescriber first.

6.5 Speak to a healthcare professional before use if any of these apply to you

Please consult a qualified healthcare professional before using the RELUXA Recovery Wrap if you:

  • are pregnant, think you may be pregnant, or are breastfeeding;

  • have a pacemaker, defibrillator, insulin pump, neurostimulator or any other implanted electronic device;

  • have any other implant, prosthesis or metal implant in or near the area you intend to treat;

  • are taking any photosensitising medication — including certain antibiotics, retinoids, diuretics, non-steroidal anti-inflammatories, St John’s Wort and some psychiatric medications;

  • have a photosensitivity disorder, lupus, porphyria, or a history of light-induced reaction;

  • have or have had skin cancer, melanoma, or any suspicious skin lesion, mole or pigmented area in the treatment area;

  • have any active cancer or are undergoing cancer treatment;

  • have epilepsy or a seizure disorder;

  • have a thyroid condition, or intend to use the device near the thyroid;

  • have diabetes, peripheral neuropathy, or any condition that reduces skin sensation — because you may not feel warmth that would otherwise warn you to stop;

  • have an active infection, fever, or inflammatory flare in the treatment area;

  • have a bleeding disorder or are taking anticoagulant medication;

  • have recently had surgery, or have a healing surgical site in the treatment area;

  • have undiagnosed pain, particularly back pain accompanied by numbness, weakness, loss of bladder or bowel control, or unexplained weight loss — these require medical assessment, not a wrap;

  • are managing any serious or chronic medical condition; or

  • are in any doubt at all.

Your doctor knows your situation. We do not.

6.6 Do not use the device

Do not use the RELUXA Recovery Wrap:

  • on or over the eyes, or where light can shine directly into the eyes. Do not look directly at the LEDs.

  • on open wounds, broken, blistered or burned skin;

  • on skin with an active rash, infection or dermatitis;

  • over a known or suspected malignancy;

  • over the abdomen during pregnancy;

  • while sleeping, or if you are likely to fall asleep during a session;

  • while driving or operating machinery;

  • while bathing, showering, or anywhere it may come into contact with water;

  • if the device, power bank or cable is visibly damaged, cracked, frayed or has been dropped;

  • while it is charging;

  • on a child, or by any person under 18, without the direct supervision of a healthcare professional;

  • on a person who cannot communicate discomfort, including a person who is unconscious, sedated, cognitively impaired, or has significantly reduced skin sensation; or

  • for longer, more often, or more intensely than the instructions for use permit. More is not better.

6.7 Using it safely

  • Read the instructions for use supplied with your device before your first session, and keep them. They are the controlling safety document for the device and they take precedence over any summary on our website.

  • A session is 20 minutes, with automatic shut-off. Do not attempt to extend or repeat sessions beyond what the instructions permit.

  • The wrap should sit snug and comfortable against the skin — not tight. It should not restrict circulation.

  • It is light, not heat. Mild warmth is normal. Pain, burning, stinging or significant heat is not. If you feel any of those, stop the session immediately and check the instructions.

  • Stop using the device and seek medical advice if you experience skin redness that does not settle, blistering, a rash, swelling, dizziness, headache, nausea, eye discomfort or visual disturbance, or any worsening of your symptoms.

  • Charge only with the supplied cable and power bank.

  • Keep the device away from children and pets.

  • Do not use it as a heat pack, a support belt, or a compression brace. It is none of those things.

6.8 Reporting a problem

If you experience an adverse reaction, injury, or any safety issue you believe is connected to the device, stop using it and email us at hello@reluxa.com.au.

We take these reports seriously, we record them, and we report them to the Therapeutic Goods Administration where we are required to. Telling us costs you nothing and does not affect your refund, guarantee or warranty rights in any way.

You may also report the matter directly to the Therapeutic Goods Administration at tga.gov.au, and you do not need our involvement or permission to do so.

6.9 Reviews and other people’s experiences

Any review, testimonial, photograph or account of experience published by RELUXA is one individual’s genuine experience. It is not typical, not guaranteed, and not a prediction of your result.

We publish reviews as customers wrote them, including unfavourable ones. We do not pay for reviews, incentivise positive reviews, or remove negative ones.

Where a review describes a clinical outcome, please read it as that person’s account of their own experience, not as a claim by RELUXA.

6.10 On research

Where we describe how red and near-infrared light is understood to work, we are describing the general scientific rationale for the technology category in broad terms.

We do not claim that any study, trial or body of research proves that the RELUXA Recovery Wrap will produce a particular outcome for you. We do not cite research as evidence of efficacy for our device, and no statement on our website should be read as such a claim.

6.11 Your responsibility

By purchasing and using the RELUXA Recovery Wrap, you acknowledge that:

  • you have read this Medical Disclaimer and the instructions for use;

  • you have considered whether any warning in clause 6.5 applies to you, and have sought professional advice where it does;

  • you are using the device for its intended purpose, in accordance with the instructions;

  • you understand that no particular result is promised or guaranteed; and

  • you take responsibility for decisions you make about your own health.

To the maximum extent permitted by law — and subject always to clause 2.17(a) of the Terms of Service, which preserves your Australian Consumer Law rights and our liability for personal injury caused by our negligence — RELUXA is not liable for loss, injury or damage arising from use of the device contrary to this disclaimer or the instructions for use, or from a decision you made about your health in reliance on our website rather than on professional medical advice.

7. Website Disclaimer

7.1 Scope

This disclaimer applies to reluxa.com.au and all content published by RELUXA, including product pages, comparison content, blog and editorial content, emails, and social media.

Anything relating to health, safety, results, contraindications or regulatory status is governed by the Medical Disclaimer, which prevails over this document. This disclaimer covers everything else.

7.2 Accuracy of content

We take real care with what we publish, and we would rather leave something out than state it uncertainly. But we are a small business, information changes, and errors happen.

To the extent permitted by law, we do not warrant that content on our website is accurate, complete, current or free from error. Content is provided for general information only.

Where we discover an error, we correct it. Where an error affects an order you have placed, clause 2.7 of the Terms of Service tells you exactly what happens — and in short, we will not charge you more without asking, and we will refund you in full if you would rather cancel.

7.3 Specifications, images and product information

  • Technical specifications, dimensions, weights, wavelengths, LED counts, battery capacity and charging times are approximate and subject to normal manufacturing tolerance.

  • Product images are representative. Screen calibration varies, and colour, finish and scale may appear differently on your device than in person.

  • We may improve or update the Product. A device supplied may differ in minor respects from images or specifications published earlier, provided it is of equivalent or better quality and performs the same function.

  • The instructions for use supplied with your device are the controlling document for specification and operation, and prevail over the website.

7.4 Comparison content

Where we compare the RELUXA Recovery Wrap to other categories of product — light panels, heat packs, clinic sessions, support belts — those comparisons are:

  • made in good faith on the basis of the product categories generally, not against any named competitor;

  • necessarily generalised, because products within each category vary enormously between brands and providers; and

  • marked with a dash rather than a claim wherever we do not have a fair, evidenced basis for the comparison.

A comparison is not a claim that RELUXA is clinically superior to any alternative, and nothing in our comparison content should be read as advising you to stop physiotherapy, medication, clinical treatment or any other care.

7.5 Pricing and promotional claims

  • All prices are in Australian Dollars and include GST where applicable.

  • Where we display a “was” price or a saving, that comparison is genuine and the reference price is one at which the Product is or has genuinely been offered.

  • Where we display a quantity remaining or a founders allocation, that figure reflects our genuine current production allocation at that price. We do not use fabricated scarcity, resetting counters, fake countdown timers, or invented recommended retail prices.

  • Prices may change at any time. A change does not affect an order already placed.

7.6 Third-party websites and content

Our website links to third-party sites, including the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods, payment providers, delivery carriers and social media platforms.

We do not control those sites, we do not endorse their content, and we are not responsible for their accuracy, availability, security or privacy practices. Following a link is at your own risk. Their terms and privacy policies apply, not ours.

7.7 Website availability and technical matters

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • we do not warrant that the website will be available uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free;

  • we do not warrant that the website or its servers are free of viruses or harmful components;

  • we may modify, suspend or withdraw the website or any part of it at any time without notice; and

  • we are not liable for loss arising from the website being unavailable, or from any defect, delay or error in it.

Our website is hosted on Shopify. Interruptions to Shopify’s platform are outside our control and are addressed by clause 2.19 (force majeure) of the Terms of Service.

7.8 Content from other people

Reviews, testimonials, comments and other user-generated content express the views of the individual who submitted them, not RELUXA. We do not adopt or endorse those views, and we are not responsible for their accuracy.

We moderate content for legality and for compliance with therapeutic goods advertising law. We do not moderate it for being unflattering.

7.9 Forward-looking statements

Statements about our plans — future products, future features, availability of payment methods, expansion into international markets — reflect our current intention. They are not commitments, and they may change. Nothing in a forward-looking statement forms part of your contract with us.

7.10 Intellectual property

All content on the website is protected. Your rights and obligations are set out in the Intellectual Property Policy.

7.11 Limitation of liability

Your use of this website is at your own risk. To the maximum extent permitted by law, RELUXA is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, content published on the website.

This clause is subject in every respect to clause 2.17(a) of the Terms of Service, which preserves your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, and our liability for fraud. Nothing in this disclaimer excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

7.12 Governing law

This disclaimer is governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and clause 2.24 of the Terms of Service applies.
