Safety and use

RELUXA is included in the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods as a Class IIa medical device (ARTG 452667). It is intended to provide red and infrared light to relieve pain in the body of adults.

What it's for

Relief of pain. Red light is used to relieve skin surface pain. Infrared light is used to relieve muscle pain. That's the whole of the claim, and it's the only one we make.

What it isn't for

It is not a treatment for menopause. It does nothing for hormones, hot flushes or mood. It is not a painkiller and it is not a substitute for seeing your GP, your physio, or anyone else about a problem that needs looking at.

It's for adults. It's not for children.

Speak to a health professional first if you

  • are pregnant

  • have a pacemaker or another implanted device

  • take photosensitising medication

  • have a skin condition, or reduced skin sensation, in the area you plan to use it on

  • are being treated for cancer

  • are managing any medical condition you're unsure about

If your pain is new, severe, worsening, or came from an injury, see someone about it first. This isn't the thing to try before a diagnosis.

Using it

Sessions are adjustable, up to a maximum of 30 minutes. The controls are simple: session length, four intensity levels and three modes. Over a t-shirt or a light layer, or on bare skin.

Do not look directly into the LEDs. Do not use it on broken skin, on the face, on the neck, or over the eyes. Do not use it while it's charging. Stop if the skin underneath becomes uncomfortably hot, red or irritated, and tell us.

Always follow the instructions for use supplied with your device.

If something goes wrong

Stop using it and email hello@reluxa.com.au. If you experience an adverse event you can also report it directly to the TGA.
